Description

This book tells the story of students from three schools who came together for one week to create a site to teach the world about a fort built over one thousand years ago. Seven students from the University of Notre Dame and four students from Lurgan Junior High School traveled to Lismore Comprehensive School in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, to work with eight of Lismore’s students on this project. The students collaborated to research and explore archaeological, cultural, and historical aspects of the lios mor, or “big fort,” on the grounds of Lismore Comprehensive. Students from both sides of the Atlantic built a site celebrating this ancient fort in order to connect people across place and time.
